Last week Ubisoft stated that a BIG announcement will be dropped on us sometime this week. Now no real clues have been given as to what it might be, but with all the awesomeness Ubisoft have been pulling out the bag recently, I for one can’t wait. Microsoft has stated its intent to discontinue Xbox Live service on the original Xbox console on April 15, 2010. The announcement comes in the form of a blog post addressed to Live members from Xbox Live’s general manager, Marc Whitten.

22 hours and 15 minutes is how long it took me to complete Mass Effect 2′s main story line whilst completing a big helping of side quests. Judging from how much I played the game for shows you just how immersive this game is as I played it that much in just a few days.

Figures just released by the Forecasting and Analysing Digital Entertainment (FADE) show the enormous amount of cash that Microsoft has been raking in from the Xbox Live Arcade. In total they estiamte that the service has brought in $103.4 million (£834,000) during 2009. They have also released a list of the top ten selling Arcade games of last year:

“Irish comedian Dara O’Briain has been confirmed as the host of this year’s GAME-sponsored British Academy Video Games Awards, which will honour 2009′s greatest titles.
The Mock the Week host is one of UK TV’s best-known faces and will be MCing the prestigious event at London’s Park Lane Hilton hotel for the second year in a row.
Nominations for this year’s awards are to be announced on February 16th 2010, with the winners to be named at the gala event itself on March 19th.

I don’t know about you lot, but I’m rather excited for the imminent release of Bioshock 2. This launch trailer has only served to heighten that anticipation. I’ve gone from having my doubts about a sequel to such a great game to being quite hyped for it. Here’s hoping it meets expectations.
