You guys may have heard that I rather enjoyed Platinum Games’ Bayonetta earlier this year. Because of that I’ve been following the developer a little more closely than in the past and I’m starting to hear rather excellent things about their next project: Vanquish.

Vanquish is a futuristic third person shooter which, whilst being a relatively well trodden path for Western developers, is not a genre often produced in Japan. Shinji Mikami, creator of the resident evil games, is the game director and that should be enough to get anyone excited. …

This video would be average if it wasn’t for the added awesomeness of the announcer from the first game making a welcome return.

As the subtitle of Alpha Protocol helpfully explains, this is ‘The Espionage RPG’ and it looks to be shaping up rather nicely in my opinion. The game is being developed by Obsidian who brought us games such as KOTOR II and Neverwinter Nights 2, so they have a decent pedigree when it comes to making RPG’s

Alpha Protocol is an RPG first and a shooter second so don’t go into the game expecting to be able to play through it as a shooter alone like many people did with ME2. What …

Scientists at the University of Iowa have published a report claiming that videogames are responsible for poor dental health in 12-16 year olds. It’s alleged that snacking on sugary foods whilst taking part in ‘screen activities’ is largely to blame for dental problems. Apparently kids are more likely to eat snack foods when playing videogames than whilst they are just watching TV. I find that hard to believe – surely your hands are too busy with the controller to be picking at snacks all the time?
