My good friend Mr ‘A trusted source’ has been at it again, this time apparently leaking the price point and release date for project Natal. According to the folks over at Edge, their source puts the price at $149 (roughly £100) and cites October 26th as the worldwide launch date. Although they did state that date could shift a couple of weeks either way.

“Microsoft expects to sell millions and millions of Natal units in its first year on the market so you can expect the software launch line-up to target non-traditional gamers,” their source said. “A major marketing campaign will also play a key role in attracting and educating the expanded audience about Xbox 360’s controller-free revolution.”

Microsoft responded with the now standard line about refusing to comment on speculation, blah, blah, blah.

If this price point is correct then I sure as hell better be blown away by the games they show for it over the next few months as there’s no way I’m paying that kind of money for something that basically only runs various mini-game collections.
