4:13 PM – Is a Baird origin story really the right call for the next Gears of War game?  Baird was the most beloved of all the supporting cast?  What was their survey sample size?  I’m calling bullshit on that.

4:13 PM – Jason Rubin seems to know what time it is, but I don’t know if anyone can really rescue THQ from the mess it’s currently in.  Haven’t heard much lately, but I know they were in danger of having their stock de-listed from the NASDAQ as a pretty serious consequence of their disappointing performance of late.  Will be interesting to follow what happens with THQ in the near future.

4:13 PM – More on Fall of Cybertron and Metroplex.  Looks like he functions like an artillery strike or summat.  You can call in missiles shot by Metroplex onto the battlefield in real time.  This game doesn’t look that great.

4:13 PM – Ugh.  More Blops 2.  When does the EA presser start?  Keighly praising Treyarch for their innovation and pushing their Call of Duty brand.  What a crock of shite.

4:13 PM – The David Beckham Burger King commercials are awesome.  Shirt off!  Shirt off!

4:13 PM – Here we go.  Randy Pitchford talking about Borderlands 2.  Got my uber loot chest collector’s edition on pre-order.  Pumped they are focusing more on the story aspect this time.  Sounds like there are some pretty cool pre-order bonuses for this as well.  If you are remotely interested, put your $5 down.

4:13 PM- Sir Peter Molyneaux, Knight of the British Empire, hand of the Queensguard, is expressing skepticism about SmartGlass.  Sounds like sour grapes to me, Petey boy.

4:13 PM – Too many adverts!

4:13 PM – Randy Pitchford back on to talk Aliens: Colonial Marines.  No Aliens games have ever been any good, so why is there hope for this title?  He’s talking about the props at the show rather than what is in the game.  That tells you all you need to know.

4:13 PM – XCOM Enemy Unknown trailer.  This was one of Jared’s favorites from PAX East.  Some Area 51 type aliens.  Isnt this supposed to be an RTS?  SHOW US SOME GAMEPLAY!

4:13 PM – Tomb Raider has got to be my biggest surprise thus far.  Graphics look fantastic and the gameplay seems intense and compelling.  March 5^th, 2013.  Only 9 months away.  Yeeeesh.

4:13 PM – Adam Sessler not looking so hot post G4 departure.  Geoff talking about EA having a “drive to sequel everything”.  Geoff, if, by “EA”, you mean “Activision”, then yes.

4:13 PM – More on Forza Horizon.  What is the point of an open world racing game?  It’s set in Colorado against the back drop of a music festival?  Why in the name of God?   Is it a dub step festival?  But got-damn, it looks sexy as hell.  Sunset off the trees in fall, very striking.  Also, this guy can’t play his own game, unless he is hitting every guard rail on purpose.

4:13 PM – Ok.  EA press conference.  Let’s do this.

4:13 PM – Battlefield 3 can get the hell out.  Now.

4:13 PM – Dead Space 3.  Hell yes.  Homeboy from Visceral looks very hard core.  Drop in, drop out co-op?  Sounds very good.  This actually looks like a pretty daring step for this franchise and I hope to God it pans out.  Ok, now it looks good, in addition to sounding good.  A little faster paced than the previous Dead Space games.  Hmmm, on second thought, I’m worried they are leaving the tense horror stuff for over the top guns blazing action.  Don’t know what to think!  Now he’s commando rolling around?  Yarg!

4:13 PM – Is this the part where he chainsaws the heart?

4:13 PM – New collision tech for Madden.  Just like last year.  Just like every year.  Hooray for Michael Irvin.

4:13 PM – Maxis.  King of the city builders?  Tropico/Kalypso are king of the junta builders, biyotch!  This facebook stuff looks like crap.  Oh, and the new “hardcore” SimCity?  It is apparently only out on the PC.  Balls to it then!  Yawn to everything that lady said.

4:13 PM – The tour de force that is Battlefield 3.  More like the tour de FARCE!  OMG LOLOLOZ HEEDLE DEEDLE BWAHAHAH.  Motorcycles?  This, ladies and gentleman, is how you ruin a franchise.

4:13 PM – Not an MMO or PC gamer so not much to say about Old Republic.  Sorry dudes.

4:13 PM – Ok.  Medal of Honor Warfighter.  Please don’t let me down.  I get to kill Somali pirates in this piece?  How did you know, Danger Close?  How did you know?  Getting those goose pimples!  Will they let me do a Bin Laden style compound raid?  Please God, make it so.  This game looks and sounds really good.  Slo-mo door breaching has been done before, but whatever.

4:13 PM – Wish they would have gone with dub step for the MP trailer instead of screaming bitch metal.  Still looks good tho.

4:13 PM – Messi is the greatest player in the world and possibly of all time.  Good to know.

4:13 PM –EA Sports UFC.  What the hell happened to Dana White never working with EA?  Cash Rules Everything Around Me.  “Happy to be here, finally”.  LOL.  So what happens to their deal with THQ?

4:13 PM – Prodigy for the NFS Most Wanted trailer?  Where is the DUB STEP?  Anyways, this game looks really good.  But it’s an open world racer, which I am on record not being able to comprehend.  I look forward to learning.

4:13 PM – Crysis 3.  Hmmmm.  Liked Crysis 2 at first, but it got really dry after a short time.  Still trying to put a finger on why.  Not a lot of variety in the types of guns?  No meaningful story to speak of?  Looks like a Crysis game though.  Which means it looks damn good.

4:13 PM – The beginning of 2013 is looking a lot stronger than fall 2012.  Overall, more impressed with this press conference than I was with MSFT.  Maybe because they spent the time focused on games.  Medal of Honor looks hot.  Dead Space 3 and NFS Most Wanted are the other winners.
