Relics. That is what pinball tables are these days. Testament to a by-gone age in the 1970s and 1980s where pinball was king and gaming, in part was a spectator sport. Unfortunately the video game boom of the 1980s began to signal the end for pinball machines as Pac Man, Space Invaders and Asteroids took over. Blimey! With both Guitar Hero & DJ Hero having their 2011 physical releases (at least) binned by Activision and replaced with DLC, surprising news surfaced today (March 8th 2011) about the future of the “Hero” brand.
Back in 2008 Activision reportedly trademarked the brand Dance Hero, and now there’s speculation that an actual game is in the pipeline and is being lined up for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. The technology is now in place to make such a multi-platform release possible following the consumer buy in of Kinect and Move. …
